Emerging Leaders 2020-21 Cohort Celebrate – Projects Available for Review

The Emerging Leaders (EL) 2020-21 cohort celebrated the completion of their program with a graduation ceremony during the ALA Annual 2021 Virtual Conference and Exhibition.

The program opened with a welcome and an acknowledgement of the resilience of the class members during their time in the program. As Pauline Stacchini, co-facilitator of the EL program, pointed out: “This cohort is the only one to have participated in the program over two years, the only one to attend three virtual conferences, and the first one to record brief pitches of their projects for asynchronous viewing.” During the event, members of each team briefly explained their projects along with challenges faced. The ceremony ended with a video presentation of the Emerging Leader participants, put together by Emerging Leaders program co-facilitator, Christina Fuller-Gregory, and featured individual leaders’ inspirational quotes. You may view the recording of the ceremony.

The cohort’s projects page describes the projects worked on by the Emerging Leaders 2020-21 teams and includes links to each teams’ videos. If you have questions about any of the projects, you may either contact the staff liaison listed for each project, or send an email to the Emerging Leaders facilitators at [email protected], who will pass along to individual teams’ members.

We are now accepting applications for a new class of participants. Find selection criteria and additional information on the Emerging Leaders’ web page.

The Emerging Leaders program is managed by the ALA Office for Human Resource Development and Recruitment (HRDR).
