HBO stars Nicole Kidman and Maya Erskine in The Perfect Nanny, a limited series from the creator of PEN15. In 2023,
HBO will be on the ground running. The network announced a second season of The Last of Us. It also brought Nicole Kidman back to adapt Leila Slimani’s The Perfect Nanny. The project hails originally from Pen15 10co-creator, and co-lead Maya Erskine who HBO sought in a competitive environment. The Perfect Nanny is Erskine’s creation and writing. It is based on Slimani’s novel. Legendary Television is also participating in the action.

Myriam, a lawyer, decides to return to work after having children and search for the perfect Nanny to care for their child and son. They never imagined that Louise would become their Nanny. The story explores disturbing instances of jealousy, betrayal, and is a cautionary tale about dependence, blind trust, murder, and suicide. The book received France’s highest literary honor, the Prix Goncourt.Child care comes with myriad challenges.
