The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs returns for The Walking Dead: Dead City special

Shudder and AMC+ present a special episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs with a screening of The Walking Dead: Dead City

A couple years ago, the Shudder and AMC+ streaming services aired a special episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, hosted by legendary movie host / drive-in critic Joe Bob Briggs, where Joe Bob showed the first two episodes of The Walking Dead and interviewed the show’s executive producer and special effects makeup supervisor/designer Greg Nicotero. Now the Walking Dead spin-off series The Walking Dead: Dead City (read our review HERE) is set to make its premiere this Sunday, June 18th – and to mark the occasion, Shudder and AMC+ have announced another special Walking Dead-themed episode of The Last Drive-In! One with a rather long title. It’s The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs: The Walking Dead: Dead City Special.

As that title indicates, this special will see Joe Bob hosting a screening of the premiere episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City. A trailer for the special can be seen in the embed at the top of this article.

On The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Joe Bob Briggs hosts eclectic horror movie double features, expounding upon their merits, histories and significance to genre cinema. Join Joe Bob, Darcy the Mail Girl, and the rest of The Last Drive-In crew as they celebrate the series premiere of The Walking Dead: Dead City.

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs: The Walking Dead: Dead City special is set to premiere Sunday, June 18th at 9pm ET on Shudder TV and AMC+ TV. Fans will be able to watch an encore airing of the special on Friday, June 23 at 11pm ET on AMC. The special will also be streaming on Shudder and AMC+ as of Sunday, June 18.

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs is currently in the midst of its fifth season, which has been split into two batches of five episodes. We saw new episodes every Friday from April 21st through May 19th, and the next batch of five episodes are set to begin airing on Friday, June 23rd on Shudder and AMC+ TV.

The show is produced by Matt Manjourides and Justin Martell, and directed by Austin Jennings. Joe Bob is joined on each episode by Darcy the Mail Girl (a.k.a. Diana Prince).
