Creating a work environment geared to employee success will be critical for business success in 2023, according to the annual trends report by Quantum Workplace, a leading employee success platform, as well as the leader in data collection for the nationally recognized Best Places to Work Programs.

The 2023 Employee Engagement Trends Report includes original research and expert analysis of workplace changes and their impact on the workplace by organizational psychologists with decades of experience in guiding organizations to create better workplaces. The report also provides guidance in navigating the ever-changing world of work to make the workplace better.

The strong labor market shows a need for leaders to aim their efforts at employee success to drive business results. This is more than employee engagement: it's creating an engaging employee experience; it's inspiring employee impact and performance; and it's investing in the creation of a magnetic culture that attracts and retains top talent.

"If there's anything we've learned from the past several years, it's that organizations need to rely on their people as a source of strength and stability to navigate challenges the business faces," Quantum Workplace CEO Greg Harris said. "The good news is that we've made a ton of progress in bridging the gap between the organization and its employees. But the work isn't done. Achieving business success in 2023 requires leaders to be more intentional about experience, impact, and magnetism."

Leaders will need to think beyond surface-level engagement and performance initiatives and adopt a comprehensive and strategic approach to create work environments where every employee can be successful.

"Employee success should be the rallying cry for organizational leaders everywhere in 2023," Harris said. "It's how forward-thinking organizations will navigate the future. It is our job as leaders to be persistent in getting our employees the tools they need to be successful and making sure they feel supported in the work they do. When we do this, we will unite the organization and pave the way for accomplishing our goals."

The data in the report is informed by over 1 million employee voices at more than 9,000 organizations across the United States, most of which participate in the Best Places to Work Programs.
