Susan Shapiro began Susabellas in 2011 in her garage and has expanded to a ceramic studio with a full workforce. The name “Susabella” was the nickname given to Susan by her grandmother, Nonna. Always admiring her grandmother’s strong work ethic, Susan realized that it was only appropriate to use the nickname as the name for her business. When she’s not in the studio, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and the studio mascot, a shih tzu named Hazel.
