Ripley's Movie Magic Exhibition Now Open for a Limited Time Only

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando proudly announces the launch of its newest exhibition: Movie Magic. The collection takes guests on an adventure through the world of cinema, where things are not always as they seem. For a limited time only, visitors will have the extraordinary opportunity to delve deep into the secrets behind their favorite films and get up close with iconic props that have left an indelible mark on cinematic history, such as:

  • Forrest Gump’s Box of Chocolates: Believe It or Not!, this screen-used prop is filled with sand, which helped keep it on Tom Hanks’ lap during filming.
  • Luke’s Lightsaber: Used by Mark Hamill in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes BackLuke’s weapon of choice was actually crafted from a 1930s Graflex camera flash!
  • Robin Williams' SFX Mask: Through the art of movie magic, Robin Williams became a British nanny in the film Mrs. Doubtfire. The mask on display at Ripley’s was used to skillfully craft the character’s appearance.

Ripley’s Movie Magic exhibition is an immersive experience, where guests can get up close and personal with legendary artifacts and even test out the magic themselves with fun interactives. Use face recognition to see which famous movie character you are, play with green screen technology, and even get “hands-on” with Luke’s Lightsaber in a unique illusion photo-op.

“We are thrilled to present Movie Magic to our guests,” said Chris Reyna, General Manager of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando. “This exhibit celebrates the power of cinema to captivate, inspire, and transport audiences to extraordinary realms. From timeless classics to modern blockbusters, Movie Magic showcases the unforgettable moments and iconic props that have become ingrained in our collective imagination.”

Whether you’re a die-hard film buff or simply curious about the secrets behind the silver screen, Ripley’s Movie Magic promises to ignite your imagination and leave you with memories that will last as long as the classics.
