Studiocanal has confirmed that Spanish actor Carla Tous has replaced Rachel Zegler in Paddington In Peru as the UK release date for the third instalment is set for November 8, 2024.
Zegler had previously dropped out of the project due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Antonio Banderas has remained in the cast.
Production began on July 24 and location filming in London, Colombia and Peru has wrapped.
Tous’ previous roles include HBO’s Spanish-language series 30 Coins and Netflix romance drama Through My Window: Across The Sea as well as its upcoming sequel Through My Window: Looking At You.
Sony Pictures will release the family comedy-drama in the US and Canada on January 17, 2025. Studiocanal is also distributing in France, Germany, Benelux, Poland, Australia and New Zealand as well as through partners in China and Japan.
Paddington In Peru is directed by Dougal Wilson and produced by Heyday Films. The rest of the cast includes Ben Whishaw, Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters and Imelda Staunton.
