Celebrate YALSA’s 2020 book award winners virtually

CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association invites everyone to celebrate its 2020 book award winners virtually. YALSA’s book award celebrations were originally to take place at ALA’s now canceled 2020 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.

The Alex Awards were the first award to be celebrated virtually and featured a Q&A session with the winning authors. View the recording from the June 11th celebration.

YALSA’s Printz and Odyssey Award, along with other ALA book awards, are slated to be celebrated during The ALA Book Award Celebration, a free, all day event, that will take place on Sunday, June 28 on ALA’s YouTube channel. The Odyssey Award will be celebrated at 4:30pm EST, while the Printz Award will be celebrated at 6pm EST. Learn more and view the full schedule.

The Margaret A. Edwards Award will be celebrated during YALSA’s now virtual 2020 YA Services Symposium. The symposium will take place November 6-8. Sign up to receive updates about registration and programs.

The mission of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) is to support library staff in alleviating the challenges teens face, and in putting all teens ‒ especially those with the greatest needs ‒ on the path to successful and fulfilling lives.
